Ages
9-10 (born 2002 or 2001)
Focus
The J5 program is organized to teach basic skiing skills and to introduce ski racing to the young athlete. Emphasis is placed on free skiing while practicing balance, edging, body position—and having fun!
Participants should be able to put on their own ski equipment, load and ride the lift alone, and ski at an advanced, intermediate level. Racing introduction will focus predominantly on modern giant slalom technique with an introduction to modern slalom technique. Athletes are arranged in groups based on skill, speed, and social needs.

Training Schedule
JIVs and JVs will train two nights per week Tuesday and Thursday, 6:30-8:30 p.m. and Saturdays 9-1 p.m.

Equipment Needs
For JVs, a single pair of junior race skis will suffice. Read more about equipment.
